The compound, compressibility, coefficient of friction of a pad all affect pedal feel. Period. This is a matter of physics, not personal perception.

my xp8's make the pedal soft as shit in the paddock but they firm up quickly on track. my ultimates feel good on the street, in the cold, but i hear they dont do well to track duty despite what evan might say. pad compounds definitely dictate the pedal feel.
