dude, you need to look on VWvortex.com classifieds R's are going for WAY under $20k now. it's kinda sad how much they've lost their value, but still not bad for a 5 year old car..... you can find some decent ones around $16k give or take. I saw a really nice turbo'ed tornado red R32 for $16K. the guy really needs the money and his car is very legit...if I didn't already have one, I'd buy that in a second.

I still daily the corrado here and there. I'm a firm believer that the car is more reliable when it is driven often instead of it sitting as a garage queen. I actually moved closer to my job and I don't have such an insane commute anymore, so I feel more comfortable driving the corrado to work sometimes. I try to share time between both cars. It's funny; both cars are SOO different to drive and both are fun/exciting to drive in their own way. The corrado is like a go cart, nimble, and get to feel the boost (g60 supercharger) whereas the R has such an intoxicating exhaust note, never has traction issues, and is just a straight BEAST (torque and sound wise).
