Agreed. Its pretty pitiful to think that it was actually designed to attempt to hold a drink, not to mention the inability to shift with the console door wide open. I managed to just use the back of the passenger seat as my coffee mug holder and that seemed to do the trick quite well.
Also, the latch has a tendency to break on the '99 setup which can be fixed with some adhesive but its not real clean. Wheel production is confirmed completed so they should be shipping fairly soon, I will definitely post some pictures once they are here and mounted.
