I saw some comments earlier suggesting GM tier itself like Toyota's Lexus/Toyota/Scion with Caddy/Chevy/Saturn. It made a lot of sense in terms of tiered branding and consolidating mgt, and well, everything else. Blend the Cobalt and G6, G8 would be the new Impala and a few other seemingly good ideas. Dropping the Pontiac brand would be a step in that direction.
Funny how the pioneer of the muscle car goes away as the muscle car battle starts to heat up again.
I've read a few comments about the need for GM to reduce the dealer network (which this move would certainly do) but I can't seem to find out what advantage that provides. Anybody have any insight on that?
