I'll say that Cutler is a better QB than Campbell, but not by as much as people are thinking. I honestly don't think Cutler is worth Campbell and a 1st, Campbell and our 3rd would be more like it.
A few things that make me think Cutler's overrated:
1. He has one of the best pass blocking offensive lines in the league. Their undersized and struggle a little with run blocking, but only allowed 11 sacks last year.
2. He won't be able to just throw a jump ball to a 6'4" pro bowl receiver, and their #2 receiver ain't now slouch either.
3. He's shown no real improvement in decision making over the last 3 years. He still throws a ton of interceptions and my old roommate (who's a huge bronco's fan, from denver) always complains about how he's terrible at reading defenses. If you watch any of his games, he gets bailed out of bad decisions by his phenomenally athletic receivers a lot.
4. Do we really want the guy who bitched and complained his way out of Denver? Will he refuse to show up in the offseason next year if he has a bad season and our coach actually acknowledges it?
5. Finally, the Bronco's had a hell of an easy schedule last year. The best defense they played was 9th ranked Tampa bay and played half of their games (8.) against the 8 worst defenses in the league. The skins on the other hand played 8 of their games against defenses ranked in the top 8. If you swap those schedules, I'm willing to bet that Campbell ends up with better numbers than Cutler and we aren't talking about this trade right now.
