Alright, so, if I could have built a nice bike when I started racing way back in the day, this is the bike I would have built:
It's full Dura-Ace 7700, Mavic Helium wheels, Kestrel EMS Pro carbon fork, Look PP-396 pedals, and some oh-so-late-90's Ergo bend bars (in 26.0 clamp). The seat post is nothing special, though, it's just something Bianchi put their label on and I put an Ohlins sticker over it. These days it's nothing special, but it's cool in my head.

And a tribute to the Serotta I cannibalized to make this thing, the original EA50 stem and Kestrel fork:
