Interesting you all mention 9mm's - most of the self-defense fanatics I know say to stay away from them as they are much less likely to stop a determined intruder. Plus out here in CA, you really only have one shot (in the eyes of the law to fall under the purview of "self-defense") - so you better make that one shot a good one that'll take out your intruder for good (no way for them to pursue a lawsuit against you).

the technology of the bullet has come a long way. most of the people that are down on 9mm remember the old ball 380s. A hydroshock 9mm that is stacked with powder and shot from a +p fire arm will inflict plenty of damage... thats a promise.

I keep 115gr Silver tipped and 125gr(i think) Hydros at the house stacked for personal protection.
