I've seen three different SR-71's and been inside the cockpit of the one outside Davis Monthan AFB. I read Kelly Johnson's book on the SkunkWorks when I was like 12. The SR-71 is one of the most impressive aircraft on earth and is my favorite modern (read post WW2) airplane.
It's good that the Air and Space museum can finally show off some of it's cooler collection pieces. Before then they had them on loan or in storage at Silver Hill which isn't much of a place for the general public.
