Project CB750
#29
More progress!

Rear brake hardware is all sorted out and brake works - at least, in the garage... I hope I have enough leverage on the road but if not I can always change it Smile

The problem this was trying to solve is locating the rod end inside the stock drum brake lever - its perfect, Allied Machine in Falls Church did the work for me.

Any concerns I had about the LED brake light not putting out enough oontz are gone....

And since Phil's CB400 is living in my garage... why not see what the tank looks like?

Hmm... fuel tap in the right place

Plenty of handlebar clearance

Mounts right up front and back

Loads of room under the tank for coils, wiring, etc.

The problem is clearance for the carbamaphone slides - I need another 3/4" of clearance for these suckers, and its right up against the side of the tank. I'm going to take a closer look at it, and if its doable then I'm going with the CB400 tank - if it needs cutting and welding I'll take it out to piper and talk it over.
