so why are manufacturers going with 5 lug instead of 4 lug? :wink:

jeebus, it's to support more weight

also the need for a guaranteed "no-stud-break" car, 5 pretty much guarantees that there won't be near enough stress on the studs to break them

part can also be it may be appealing to the eye, 4 may look weak, but 5 looks "stronger" of course this is bias, but whatever

newer cars get heavier every year thus the need to support more weight, esp with bigger engines, faster cars, and finely tuned suspensions.

is that sufficient....i believe the basis for the previous arguments can be extrapolated to incorporate all subjects as to why manufacturers are going toward the 5-lug setup
