Cobalt brake pads
#13
Jewels Wrote:I don't use them personally, but BHP from what I'm hearing is shaping up nicely. I know Maeng was using them this past weekend. And I know Sean Thompson thought they were nice on Cobetto's beater pace car. Matt who used to work at Carbotech is the guy to talk to about BHP.

i used the BHP PR-3 compound for the first time this weekend and i loved them. they were amazing! not even a hint of fade, modulation was pretty easy and the initial bite of the pads were aggressive enough for me but not harsh (i know thats subjective, but it felt great to me). the CR-6 compound which i used last year does wear quickly, but i pulled the PR-3 pads off after the weekend and they seem to have a lot of meat left on them. VIR full isnt exactly hard on brakes though so i'm not sure if thats indicative of increased pad life or just an easy track on brakes. matt nicholson said they should last about twice as long as the CR-6 though. problem is that they're not exactly giving these things away. they're a bit pricey but brakes are one of those things i certainly dont want to skimp on. i feel like its one of those things where everyone's fruitlessly looking for the infinite life/can be used on street and track/cheap as hell/doesnt dust holy grail though. but to me, the most important thing is its performance on track and i havent really had pads like these since XP8's. i definitely recommend these.
