Ok, so I blew the engine up. I'm not 100% sure what happened yet but it was a failure in cylinder #1. I had a "when keepin' it real goes wrong" moment and ran against some jerk on the interstate. I was at a stupid speed for a long time at WOT (thats all the detail we need for MM.org). At least he was behind me and got an oil bath. I'm guessing it burned a hole in the piston (fuel loss detonation) and it then pressurized the crankcase blowing oil out every orifice. The dipstick blew out, as did the PCV valve any anything else attached to the oily part of the boostbox. So without further adieuthe pictures.

Today I went and checked the plugsthis is #1

So thatÔÇÖs what I know so far. I have already sourced another powerplant from an 89 turbo caravan. It will be checked over (compression, flatness of head and deck surface, general visual inspection), have the seals replaced, and get the following modifications before install.
- Balance shaft removal
- Stock 89+ 2.2 TII turbocharger (standard T3 turbo)
- Mopar Performance headgasket
Beyond that it will be as it was. I expect to pick up some horsepower simply from the larger more efficient turbocharger. Boost will stay around the same numbers but I will be replacing the fuel filter and maybe the pump as well as a few other little clean-up things like replacing that ratty rear IC hose and getting the air filter serviced (K&N). I will also be adding a wideband (the one I have for the Daytona) or an EGT gaugewhichever I decide.
