Is there a thing as too much HP's?

An SUV or truck uses a lot more gas, emits more CO2, puts more wear on the road, takes up more space causing more traffic, and endangers other drivers more than the average sports car. On paper it seems like an ultra fast car is a public menace but in reality it is hardly a factor.

Agreed but in large numbers, resources can't/won't meet demand for everyone to have a large SUV so resource price goes up driving up purchase prices along with cost of maintenance which reduce demand.

Small luxury niche products don't follow that curve.

Scotty-Idiots make money too. They can also have kids. Also rich, smart people are also able to produce idiot children so there.

My thought with super high HP cars is that the HPnumbers can't be used safely/legally so why produce something like that? So if it can't be used legally/safely, why is it produced?
Warning:I don't apply this logic to alcohol, cigarettes or the like.

I'm only saying that 300 or 550HP's is all the same to 99% of the populace, but the costs to society curve is much steeper once 300ish HP's is reached.
Two feet.
