There's no way it's the wastegate on his flux capacitor. Everybody knows that the flux capacitors came with a r42d3 wastegate that is completely hydraulic. There was a recall for them in 1990. Buick recall #53425f332edf5681. I'm telling you, the downpipe probably interfered with anti-decompression agent that flows through that shifter. Those pesky 5 speeds!
