That sucks dude.
I had the same thing happen to the 240. Couldn't figure out why it was overheating, decide to touch the water pump belt when the car was off, and lo and behold the thing flops around like a dead fish.
Turns out, my power steering adjustment screw was, well, gone. So I pulled one off the parts car (thank god for that) and went about my merry way.
But, with you having a Corrado...at least the car didn't catch fire.
