No, the point of the redesign was a) to allow not-so computer literate people the ability to post their own news without having to mess with HTML and FTP, and b) to clean up the nastiness that was behind the scenes of the former MM website.
Jack had the idea of users updating their own information but it's not exactly a top priority right now, we still need a calendar and image gallery.
