I fully subscribe to the momentum car as a learning tool school of thought but Im not a zealot.
There are in fact some things that a momentum car wont teach you as well, like throttle manipulation, and acceleration traction sensing.
These are arguably easier developed skills, and may come more naturally, hence why as RJ said racers who learn on momentum cars frequently do well in higher level racing.
For many, a miata is the perfect track car. Its a fantastic learning tool, its fun, but more importantly its CHEAP to track. That was a big factor in my decision.
At the end of the day its about having fun, so track whatever car makes you happy. I cant wait to see Jeff out in a Turdblo Dodge Adam out in a SHO just because those guys are so into their cars.
