NASA does not require EQUAL safety equipment. This is a misinterpretation of their rules, they require the passenger to MEET the requirements for the driver, the driver can have a $4,000 full custom lajoie seat and 7pt belts and the passenger can have a stock POS seat w/ a 3pt belt and still be within the rules. Not sure what belts you got but with my Sparco/Sabelt belts the 'sub' belt can easily be switched out, the cam lock only has 5 points and the sub belts either have 1 (5pt) ,2 (6pt) or 3 (7pt) straps attached to them, the 2pt 'sub' was only $35 and comes in either T or V shapes (V being easier on the 'boys').
