That is a very interesting proposition. It would reduce redundancy in the product lines, freshen the brands, and help with innovation. I wouldn't be at all surprised if something like that did happen after the sale. Dodge might need to have a value line car still, but making Dodge the "working" brand and Chrysler the "luxury-sport" brand would really be the goal. Jeep helps with keeping Chrysler profitable. One of my serious misgivings about the sale might be that the investment group might choose to focus to much on Jeep and ultimately miss out on what Chrysler has to offer under the right leadership.
