Not to stray too far off topic... but you know that brake pads dont shorten your stopping distances, right? You're still tire limited - an OEM brake pad can lock up a slick... although probably only once or twice before it fade to oblivion.
Please, don't try to interject logic into this conversation HP pads are gods gift and can keep anyone free of danger.
