Yes, a couple times on track and several times at auto-x's. I said I don't know much about DVD (as I'm interested in editing, so I never looked into them). But now if his wife wants to use it as well then they are dead simple to use and I'm sure she'd like it as well. But no I don't know how it would perform on track. I think RJ posted up some video of him using a Canon ZR series and it looked fine, I doubt theres any real reason to stray away from a tape-based camcorder.
