taken at the shop this morning. things are actually looking kind of up, for reasons i'll go into later depending on how they turn out

end result: you can convert a manual crank over to an auto by machining the crank but you can't do vice versa without machining an adaptor, which would have to be custom turned and would be very trial by error.
