Plain and simple... the top of our website and forum says what we are about... if you missed it... read it.
We didnt start this club to produce a bunch of car show dyno queens. That was never the intention. It is true, we all used to lean the seat back and cruise the campus! We got together and wanted more.
We went to the track! We learned how track events opperate, how to drive (some of us), how to build and inspect safe cars! ONE drivers education event, ONE autox or autox school will automatically (if you are really there to learn) will teach you to drive faster and safer. Faster on the track... safer EVERYWHERE.
The car show was developed to be a group bonding experience, a chance to have the student body see us out in the open and in a positive light, AND to let the university know we do safe constructive things.
Very few people outside of the OGs know what we went through to get the club started. The motorcycle club had an easier time getting started with the university than we did. we are ALWAYS being watched. I wouldnt be suprised if someone from the university safety group didnt watch this forum!
We (alumni) hate on each other just as much as we hate on the students. Can anyone in the student body tell me where the "mom" jokes started? Can you tell me where the "sister" jokes started?
You all have an open invitation to the track. If you want to talk to me (probably the biggest asshole and overly opinionated person), I'm in the tech shed! If you want to get to know us, invite us to JMU for something... other than the car show, because the car show we expect to happen no matter what! its a tradition... just like the mom jokes... and we STARTED IT... so of course we want to see it happen... we will help... we will be critical... we will attend!
If you dont want to be involved in motorsports... start Madison Stunnaz or something... feel the pain we did trying to get things going... understand why we have the passion we do... the opinions we do. stop being a bunch of silver spoon mommas boys with bloody vaginas and be proactive... be proactive in the club... and in developing relationships inside this club.
