Not necessarily - you dont have to participate actively, but thats the common thread that ties us all together. MM has a much better membership group than most Turbo Riceboy of America clubs..... just because you're not out there driving doesnt mean you cant be passionate about it, come to the track a few times a year and/or get involved in other ways.

I respectfully disagree. Allow me to quote from the Equestrian Club's FAQ:

Yes. The shows have different divisions from beginner walk/trot all the way to the open 3'0" jumpers. Every class in the Intercollegiate shows counts, as there is a rider in each one who gets points for the team. Therefore, everyone is important. We need someone to fill each class so we can get as many points as possible. So even if you have never ridden before and have always loved horses, this is the perfect opportunity to take lessons and be a member of a fun equestrian club team.

If you have never ridden before and you have always loved horses, you're of course welcome there...but the expectation is that you will not simply continue to love horses, but to learn to ride them.

I don't see why a motorsports club should be any different.
