Autocross Experiences

i've autocrossed at verona twice under BRRSCCA. it was a decent experience both times but the lot is crap. the gravel is bad and there are some washboard sections where i was sure my car would shake apart. both times i autocrossed with the accord and it was fun, especially the final time when i had some good-ish tires. its was so close to JMU it was great -- roll out of bed, grab your gear, drive 15 minutes down 81 and have a blast with your MM dawgs all day. then hit up qdoba on the way back

BRRSCCA is a tight group of people but i wasn't wild about their classing. i drove novice STS both times, which worked well, but if i chose not to do novice i would have been destroyed. i'm there for fun regardless but i do like fair classing.



i also ran with Jay's Si at VMP under NASA-X. it was a much better event with a great course layout and a good turnout. it was a bit of a drive but who cares, if you go with your buddies it's a day well spent. i don't know what lot they use now but we used a large mall lot that, aside from having to piss behind a dumpster for lack of facilities, was clean and huge.

i like NASA-X classing better than BRRSCCA. John Felton runs a solid event.
