Not a coop so much as Chrysler wanting to lease GM's GMT900 platform to make their own trucks.
I don't know if you use the word "trucks" the same way I do (to say SUV or pick-up) but I heard it was so Chrysler could have a full-size SUV based off the Suburban platform. No-way will they share a chassis on the pick-ups. I didn't read the whole article in depth, but thats what I took from it. I don't see it happening anyway. I don't understand how it could be profitable to use another company's full-size platform when Chrysler's is successful in its own right. The only thing I can figure is GM is trying to keep from laying off workers and Chrysler won't have the production capacity after their layoffs to make the extra chassis needed for the full-size SUV. Also, why in the hell do we need a full size SUV? Ford and GM can't give away their big SUVs and the Durango/Aspen are collecting dust at an alarming rate.
But Chrysler news FTW- DIESELS! Jeep GC, Liberty (already), PT cruiser, and a 1500 Cummins!!!! I think its gonna be really cool. Also, the first Chrysler Hybrid is supposed to be on the horizon in the Durango/Aspen
