You can compare Nintendo games from the '80/90s that are not all that special (you could piece that whole kit together for probably 1/10th or less of that price) to diamonds that are millions of years old or to the rookie card of one of America's sports icons?
I understand collector fads, but I also understand when people are spending too much money for something that is not going to appreciate much if at all. You'd probably have to sit on that Nintendo kit for a billion years before you could see any return on it, purely from a collector standpoint.
