I've had a couple of different rental cars in the last couple of weeks.
1) Toyota Camry - A boat. Not bad, but definitely a boat. It was very roomy and handled like, ummm.... A boat. But for 3 adults on a 6-hour drive, it wasn't bad at all.
2) Pontiac Grand Prix - I sat down in the driver's seat and immediately thought, "Oh, so this is why GM is going under..." I hated this car with a passion. From the obnoxious red computer thing in the middle of the dash (that requires 8, count 'em, 8 button presses to turn off) to the seats that scream "We saved $2.37 by making these suck!", it was a tour de force of crapptacularlessness. The one redeeming quality was the engine - whatever was in there seemed to be working well, and we didn't get killed or boxed in by tractor trailers on 95, so hooray.
Next time I get a rental (probably this week), I'm gunning for a Ford Escape.
