ScottyB Wrote:How was your experience with Alamo overall? Enterprise made the whole experience idiot-proof but their car prep was pretty lax. my focus had fresh stains and crap all over and smelled like a stogie, and the PT's tires were at like 20 psi.
The rental process was relatively painless. I did everything online, and then went straight to the rental kiosk by the luggage pickup. I was actually able to do everything before my luggage came out of the hole. The only hiccup I had was my name having a numerical suffix, which the automated "check in yourself" system didn't like...otherwise I could have done it without talking to a real human being until getting my keys. For the cheapest place I could find (almost 200/week cheaper than Enterprise) they were really good.
The car was clean, but no floormats. Not that I care, but maybe Enterprise spends their 200 bucks on crappy paper floormats? Could be. I have no idea what the pressure in the tires are though. I just took off.
To answer Feersty's question about the SS Supercharged, my initial thought is that the car better have enormous tires (At least 225 wide) and an LSD or it's not going to do anything but make lame pegleg burnouts. Plus, that huge wing is going to make the rear window even more worthless(er). But if it's got that, it might be a cool car to drive, if FWD is how you roll.
And Adam, seriously...it sucked hard. It looked just like this, and pushing on the accelerator didn't do anything but make lots of noise. It moved forward just as quickly at 4500 RPM's as it did at 2500. It really sucked. Hard. I'd almost rather walk.
