IMO that was the right call. If they convert the 1st down the game is over. It's as simple as that. Our defense had not done shit the entire game against the pass, so I don't really see how it could be counted on to stop the opposing team from putting up 7 (or 8 in our case), and for the most part their defense couldn't do shit against our offense either. IMO they really should have just called a power run up the middle, but you do what you think is right and thats it. But saying they should have put up 3 more and hoped that our defense could do something they didn't do for the majority of the game (pressure the QB and stop the passing game) is just not a smart decision.
