Where you can remove your name from the mailing lists of credit card companies? My mother told me that there's somewhere online where you can do this. I didn't really believe her (since one company gets your information, they probably sell it to another company, and so on and so on) but I figured I'd ask you guys to see if you've heard of this before.

Any of the major credit reporting agencys (Equifax, Experian, Transunion, etc) should be able to mark your file to prevent unsolicted credit checks - which will get rid of those pesky credit card offers.

Supposedly you can opt out of "prescreened" offers of credit.

1-888-5-OPTOUT (678688)

Or yeah, contact any of the major credit agencies.
