Cars w/ stock 3in exhaust
#1
Is there any car that came stock with a 3in exhaust? Maybe I would be better to ask what trucks came with 3in stock. I need to get a cat-converter from something with stock 3in pipe. Any ideas?

They're a little south of here (Atlanta), and they ship. You can get a generic fit catco or magnflow cat in the size you need. There's a 9000 series catco for $106, I think shipping is free. They're a good company to deal with.

Go to murph's muffler. Give him specs and he'll make you one. Just don't say its a cat-delete pipe/test pipe. That will get you instantly refused.

Mopar sells one for the SRT-4. Its got a cat-looking resonator right where the cat should be. That is kinda what I am going for...minus the sound deadening part.

I'm heading down there sometime this week to have some exhaust work done - Dave built my header/test pipe so I'm sure he could set you up with something Smile

Get what you pay for.

My header was $800, for uncoated mild steel and a semi-merge collector....

AH! I did not understand! I didn't know you were looking for a gutted cat or cat-ish looking thing. FWIW, the 02 and previous (probably all the way back to 89 or so) dodge diesels had 3 inch exhaust. And many had some sort of resonator. They might be kinda big.... I don't know. I'm sure GM and Ford diesels used 3 inch as well earlier, there's gotta be something cheap/free out there for you.

I have a real 3-inch Catco Cat on mine...it works well and lets my car not smell like exhaust. I Definitely would recommend them.

Dave finally got the site up. I was damn close to buying one of his headers when I had the Prelude. Jeff, checkout www.kteller.com. They sell exhaust bits as well.

thanks guys, Also, mufflers. The pipe I am getting is a FWDperfomance piece, Its a 3 piece turbo to bumper set...3in. I will look into a cat but I really want good flow and the ability to spit fire. That being said should I have am muffler and what is a good one? I have a magnaflow fart-can but it is 2.5in and I will use it on the omni.

Doesnt matter, as long as it reduces my emissions it fits my purpose. Flow and efficiency dont matter when im driving around on the street. At the track I take it off.
