Co-founder of the MMpire. Previous infatuation, '88 Fiero. Current, BMW E30s, specifically the 84-85 318i, good for a whopping 102HP. Hoping to clean house in SpecE30 someday if I can ever afford to finish prepping it. Married and moved to Atlanta in July, slaving away at Essex (call me if you need brake pads) and eagerly awaiting Jess' graduation day from law skool so I can sit around, play PS2, drink Redbull&Vodka and hit the track every weekend 8)

I'm Jack. I made this site. I'm Madison Motorsports' web master and i guess you PR... principle recruiter... because there's not much REAL PR work to do . My first car was RJ's old 83 RX7 and from there, the next step was an integra GSR, and now I've settled with a 90 RX7 TII that's my pride and joy. My screen name is AfricanJewAtJMU. Oh, and lastly, I have two of the worst car diseases known to man: rotary fever and boost rot. I'm going to die very soon.

John Chapin (MadisnBone on AIM)....

I snuck into MM as an OG - back in the day Smile Used to drive a V6 Mustang (oops), now the proud owner of a '94 Lightning that has seen both autox and HPDE, as well as an '04 W R X (eat shit WRsuX person). Married JessicaRabbit79 in June '03, haven't looked back! Still chasing my dream of owning and restoring a Z32 TT, and can't wait to get back to road courses... EDIT: 9/6/04 - an awesome '90 300ZX TT has joined the car family!

Currently living in Palmyra, VA (southeast of Charlottesville), with Jess, 2 rabbits, and too many cars...

I've been a member of MM since I heard of the club at a student org night back in the Fall of 01' and came running up to the table. Seriously this is the best part of JMU, and now as Co-Vice Pres. I constantly do club stuff. I've had my 94 Del Sol S since I was 17. I've done 2 autox's and can't wait to start HPDE once the funds are available. My future plans with racing consist of competing in Honda Challenge, H2 or H3, with a 94-96' prelude vtec or GSR. I'm looking at buying an already built track car to save on the initial costs. Another future goal/dream is owning or managing a race complex similar to VIR. My major of Recreation Management will allow me to work hard at something I love.

Gerald Irish, the other founder

Back in 99ish my roommate and I had an idea that it would be cool to have a car club at JMU. Over time I got more and more into motorsport and I eventually met Chan in an ISAT class and later worked with him in the Medialab. I met John there too and we all discovered we had the common interest. In 2000 we decided to start the club and in Spring of 01 we started the formal process and here we are today.

We've come a long way in these few years. Crewed for Bimmerworld, Planet Earth Motorsports, and even Ferrari of Washington. We had the chance to go to the 12 Hours of Sebring over Spring Break and I've driven on 5 different road courses on the East Coast (hope to make it 10 this season). I'm ready to get my competition license this month and start racing in Honda Challenge, SSB, and maybe some Rotax or Shifter karts. I have a 96 Integra GS-R and will have a tow vehicle in the near future. Maybe next year something else will join the stable as either a badass street car or a badass race car...

But by far the best thing about MM is having people to share the addiction to the Go Fast Crack Pipe. It has actually done more to fuel the addiction than help it but co-dependents are what its all about right?

Been around since the first meeting, but wasnt very active aside from a little flagging until I bought a WRX in 2001.
Immediately starting autoXing the car in STX while dumping all my money (and thensome) into car modifications.
After autoXing for about 5 months plunged into track day/HPDE and proceeded to spend even more non-existent cash on tracktime!
Fast forward through a whole lot of track time, a little bent metal, and a couple other cars and I am now an HPDE instructor driving a Miata R, pondering when I should take the plunge into wheel to wheel racing.

I obviously don't have a celica but I had such an amazing experience driving one that I thought I was going to purchase one. Now I am not, cause the gearing is bad. It would have been the newest model GTS. I do drive a 1989 Buick Century and I have a good time with it, straight pimpin'. I did autox it once and it was very fun. If y'all are apprehensive about autoxing just look at me. Did some three wheel mayhem.
