I bought a master that took two days to come. Bolt everything in, and the very last line on the master is threaded incorrectly and when I say incorrectly, i mean the threads are chewed to hell. Buying parts is the worst part of fixing cars. Now I have to wait for two more days for another cylinder that could be just as fucked.

Thats alright, I bought a starter for my friend's car and it was the completely wrong starter listed in the catolgue..

if you're bringing in the core part to exchange, it'll take just a few minutes to compare the two and make sure the part is correct. if you're buying the part before you take out the bad part, then i guess you're pretty much SOL

Probably best not to buy parts like master cylinders from there. I got a waterpump from autozone long ago before I knew better and it was a piece of crap. There were pieces of metal in the impeller etc.

Actually went to Fairfax auto parts today, they had it in stock and not screwed up thread. Car is fixed and ready for action.

I got two wrong parts in the right boxes this weekend - a tie rod end from AutoZone with the same part number on the box as the other TRE I got from them (which was the correct part) and an axle from AdvanceAutoParts.
Why do people just post what they are thinking? Without thinking.
