Anyone here have any experience with HDMI cables? I'm finally getting HD hooked up at my crib, and I heard really good things about these. The cables are like $200 for 6' worth of cable heh, so I kind of want opinions before I invest.

Bringing this back from the dead. I'm getting an Ipod for christmas and want to get some good headphones to go with it. Before I start reading all of the reviews on the previously mentioned websites, does anyone have any good experiences with the "in ear" type. I've heard good things about Shure and entymotics (spelling?).

you can always trust Shure, they have been around for years and produce two of the best selling microphones ever produced. SM57 and SM58. they have the feet firmly planted into the audio industry.

although, i would stick to other closed ear headphones personally, but i guess when your toting that communist backing technology around Smile you want something smaller.

give me some time in my new job to learn all the ins and outs and I might be able to provide some good info about speaker wire. we deal with very high end equipment and wiring for home audio/video. I'm not about to try and attempt it now...

yeah yeah, i was just saying that they make excellent mics, so they should make decent enough headphones.

ok.... bringing it back once again. What do I buy if I want to spend $30? How about $50? How about $100?

Found CNET recommends the sen 280pros for $80 from amazon. Seems like their recommended bang for the buck. Recommendations?

PS If I plug these in to my nano, would they work ok? Or will there be some sort of power issue?

$100, the grados. you'll note that while the cnet editors rated the senns a little higher than the grados, the users rated the grados much higher than the senns.

yes, they will work with your nano. it isn't until you get in to the real professional level stuff that you won't be able to.

Word, just ordered up some Sennheiser HD 485s for my sister as a christmas present. You might consider those as an alternative to the HD 280 Pro. They are open back, but apparently they don't need a ton of power to drive them like some of the studio monitors with monster drivers do.

Just got back from the music store. I ended up with the HD 280 pros. They were so much more comfy. The isolation is almost on par with the bose QC2s... but those thing are in a league of their own. You feel like you're in a damn vacuum. I went with the senns because they were much more comfy although I did notice a hint of more powerful bass from the sr80s... but so did everyone else in the room. I'm happy with my big uglys. They sound GREAT.... keep the noise out... and keep my noise in Smile
