I'm contemplating buying an old studio display... this one to be precise:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://chicago.craigslist.org/sys/94414575.html">http://chicago.craigslist.org/sys/94414575.html</a><!-- m -->
I have a PC with DVI-out. I found an ADC-DVI converter for $30 on newegg. I also have an old laptop that I'm hoping to trade for the monitor. Either way... I want this monitor to do color testing. Right now I have an 18.1LCD, and a 15" lcd. This would replace the 15.

So the question is... am I waisting my time thinking about an old LCD even though their performance was described as "stellar".. and should I just shell out an buy a decent... and current studio display?

i've seen these at work, and they are real nice. just because they are old, doesn't mean they can't keep up with what you need. Unless you are looking for stupid amazing looks, that should do fine. If you are trading an old laptop for it, that's even better.

If it doesn't work, just sell it, and get something else.
