Nice. At 6 when I got home, my entire suspension front and rear was on the garage floor. She's now loaded up and ready to rock and roll. Getting the car tuned tomorrow afternoon in charlotte @ P1 auto then I'll be down.... chan, get the RB&V ready. Or the P&C.

It wasnt even that hot. No worse than summit or VIR in the summertime.

every track weekend has at least one. heaven forbid the italian leather interior be in the sun!

i'm a fan of GTS rear ends.

you could hear the turbo whining just at idle Confusedhock:

there were a couple of these around, looking at home at the track

i got a ride with RJ for a session....it was pretty badass. i love RA, its the flavor of VIR but a little smaller and with steeper elevation changes (although less change overall). the esses between turn 3 and 5 are fantastic, very quick transitions and interesting camber changes. i loved the braking going into 10 and of course 12 is a nail biter when the earth drops away  we diced it up with a 996 turbo (with some work done to it), always catching him under braking and through the esses, then he'd blast by with the wastegate screaming wide open down the back straight. rinse, repeat for 20 mins....then the engine sputtered and died for a second going through 12 and RJ decided to call it quits with the tank on "E". we also caught and passed a caterham 7 replica.

the teg felt real strong to me, and RJ did some killer trail braking. thanks again for the ride dude. Jen was watching us, and unfortunately the speed kinda got her scurred from doing a ride-along. but she may be up for it next time!

sorry, no pics of the MMer's on track....we'll get em next time.

just thought i'd note this in light of the SUV bashing thread in the lounge:

RJ and i were sitting in the staging area at RA about to go out for the session. i looked up towards turn 1 and noticed a totally stock looking ford explorer hauling all kinds of ass into the turn. i think i said something like "what the hell is that...." as it took the corner and flew up the hill towards turn 2. we sat there and watched.

a lap later, we had witnessed that it had passed the car in front of it the lap before by a good margin.

we watched it roll through turn 1 and pull away from a pack including an SRT-4 and a foxbody stang IIRC. stock looking, stock ride height, eddie bauer edition explorer.

im still distraught and actually scared.

post it already!

Although I'm very dissapointed that I won't be in it for like the 2 turns it would take you to pass me. They finally decided out of the blue to ask for track passes for the group 3 peoples and I had to go back and hunt for mine.
