Alright bitches - we're down here, packed up and ready to rowl out early tomorrow morning. If any of you are going to be around tomorrow and wouldnt mind coming up to vienna and giving me a hand unload this thing, call my cell - 703 863 9405 (omghi2u foneseks hotline!) - I'd like to be there around 3pm, although we'll see what traffic does to that. Unloading shouldnt take more than 45min to an hour.

Damn what a long day.... left Atlanta around 6am and everything was going great until I85 was down to one lane in 2 spots... good job VDOT for creating more traffic on a holiday weekend. Then ffing 95 was shut down for a while due to some asshats making accidents north of richmond. This damn truck got 9mpg and there's something seriously wrong with the brakes and/or front end - the whole front suspension felt like it was going to fall off whenever I touched the brakes, and it was completely incapable of making any sort of panic stop - even normal stops were somewhat of an experience. Either way, we made it back in one piece in 12 hrs total, unloaded my shit and I took Ryan back to JMU and now I'm back in NoVa. I'll be unpacking all damn week.... sticking around the parents house for a few days while I get shit sorted out at the new place. *phew* No more trips for me for a while....... I've already driven over 20k miles this year in my various vehicles.

Budget or U-Haul? the last time my family rented a U-Haul, our truck was a pile of junk. my dad got out of it once we finally arrived at our new home with white knuckles.

It was budget. I will be having a few words with them when I drop it off tomorrow and I'm looking for some sort of refund - I'm not one to gripe about unsafe vehicles given the condition my own cars are usually in, but this was rediculous.

RJ is right, that truck was downright scary. Going under 25mph the truck didn't shake *too* badly under braking, but when we were on interstate going about 65-70mph and had to get on the brakes, the whole truck would vibrate. You could literally see the steering wheel jumping up and down. The truck could barely stop on its own, and a panic stop would have turned the truck into a death trap. Traffic on I-95 sucked. The accident was at mile marker 95 and we were sitting still at mile marker 83.
But other than those set-backs it was a pretty good trip. Didn't take too long to load the truck (little over an hour) and with 5 people we made quick work of the unloading process.
