Are any of you current JMU students honors students? Or were any of you grad's honors students? My parents want me to do this subject-area honors thing, but Im not really sure what it entails work wise, besides the senior project, and im not really sure how much time/effort that entails either. So, can you guys tell me if its a waste, or if its really worth it?

edit: I actually turned down the honors program before coming here, but my parents seem determined to make me do it this time arround. So can one of you tell me how much extra Ill be doing? My roomate is a honors student, but all ive ever seen him do in regards to honors is sign up for classes earlier....

If you're not looking to actually spend all your time at JMU in the honors program, go for it. I was a member for my freshman year, after which I decided there was no way in hell I could finish my major AND do all the work that the program would have called for. However, during that year I took some really cool classes with some kick-ass teachers, and it was quite nice to be able to sign up for classes before everyone else. Smile Your call, but as I recall, it was going to be a lot of work.

there's an intensive project you'll have to complete by your senior year, if you're an isat major it kind of overlaps since you have to do one for isat.

that's about all i know for the honors program though
