We have the original constitution and by-laws from when the club was formed and now with the growth and changes, it needs to be updated. This really wouldn't be a huge task- form a committee, meet a couple times, propose changes to the club, finalize it, and present it to the club at a meeting. Then it will be posted online.
I'd like to start a committee- I haven't had much experience with this, so someone list the chair titles or whatever (maybe just # of people needed).
If you'd like to volunteer to lead or be on this, please go right ahead. I'd actually like to leave this up to other members/alumni than the current officers. But we're here to help.

Getting current members involved in committees is a good thing, IMO

If you can score me a copy over winter break, i'd be happy to try to look it over during winter break. I'd also try to scan it and send it out to the committee. That said, I'd be happy to be involved in this as well

one or two more newer guys would be great for finishing this off. We've got a lot of new people in here and I'd like to see some of you step it up and look into this with us.
I'm more than happy to help, but how about giving us some idea of what changes need to be made. Its all well and good to have a committee, but noone knows what we actually need to change?

Hey guys. My .02 from being on numerous committees, etc with all the shizzle that I did at JMU...
1. Review the bylaws and make sure that they are up-to-date and relevant to the direction that the club is headed.
2. Maintain the original copy in original form for clarification and posterity's sake.
3. Try to think of any issues that may arise with anything that the club does (fundraising, events, elections, committees, history, etc) and have some guidelines for how those things should run.
4. As the club grows, it will be important to be true to the mission and purpose of MM... the bylaws provide a framework to guide future growth, and as such, may be ammended to facilitate any new directions that the club may go.
If you have any specific questions, shoot them my way (or Julie's way... she and I were discussing this at Dave's on Wednesday). We can give you some practical experience in the whole committee thing.
