Its that time of the year again... State Inspection

They failed me because the connection from the headers to the midpipe is leaking, and because the brake wear sensor wasn't clipped into the caliper. I fixed the wear sensor in approximately 11 seconds, but they wouldn't budge on the exhaust leak.

Is that typical? Its a leak, which to me is an emissions issue not safety. :dunno:

Time to spend the money and get flanges welded or v-band it. Might as well anyway.

Wouldnt that mean having to make a trip to harrisonburg for inspections each year?

No..

Inspections = state wide, so you can take it anywhere in VA. Chris message me offline if you wanted some more details on 'primary garage'

Newp, I think I just sent them a check every year for my tax bill, or something.

when i had my miata registered to my parents address I just had to pay the local tax to that county.
they did mail the bill and the registration stickers to that address though, not sure if there is a way to get them to mail it to your nova address.

I think there is, you just have them change your mailing address on the tax registration. They don't really care as long as you send them a check.

Where your car is garaged has nothing to do w inspections. The benefit of having a car garaged in Harrisonburg is that's they done require emission inspections. I have had all my cars "garaged" in Harrisonburg to this date for that reason only. Inspectors can be just as big of sticklers in the burg as in nova.
