Your thoughts and opinions. I love synchromesh, smooth shifts esp. cold mornings. I am about to put some in after I put the shafts back, noticed on the bottle that it says, "Great performance in low temps" does that mean, good in low temps or does it imply, "bad in high temps" i.e. racing.
What do you guys use? and why?

MT-90 is fine, throw in a bit of lightweight shockproof, thats worked great for Evan.

I use Motul300.... couldnt be happier. Shifts good cold, and I did 7 weekends on the last change and it felt great all the way through.
I would *NOT* use GM/pennzoil synchromesh in a honda 'box - its significantly thinner than the honda MTF, and need it to cushion the synchros. For track use, look into a synthetic fluid.... there is a synthetic variety of synchromesh (its $12/liter i think) that looks promising, same as castrol syntorq if you can find it (i havent been able to).

I tried quite a few (pricey...) brands in the WRX and Redline worked the best. Used 75w90NS w/ some lightweight shockproof mixed in. (this is exclusive to subaru, i wouldnt recommend the 75w90NS for most cars)
Held up better and shifted better than anything else, including royal purple. (never tried motul though)
In my other cars I have used MT-90 and am happy with it. 75w90 in the diff too
if you are just driving on the street, no reason to use spendy gear oil. Either OE oil or Mobil Synthetic should work great.
I don't know about them Hondas, but MT90 is actually pretty heavy, and is definatly NOT the best choice if you want good cold performance. The MTL is probably what you should be using unless you're going to see a LOT of track time. I've use MTL in a couple cars for street and track and have been happy. It's a little bit lighter than the MT90, but is supposed to do a good job of protecting syncros and surviving high temps. Every tranny I've poured it in acts like I took 100k miles off of it.
Have you tried the silkolene gear oyl?

chan actually sold me some silkolene for the integra. granted, i've only tracked it once since putting it in but it shifts smoother than it ever has and it feels very nice.

Nissan's 2nd and 5th synchros/sleeves are known for f'king up. 2nd gear grinds, and 5th gear pop-outs are the initial symptoms. When you change oil, see if there's any brass metallic flakes in your oil. It's not the end of the world if you do see it, just means you gotta drive more carefully.

who makes the tranny? Tremec says to use GM stuff so that's wwhat I bought. I do use redline in the rear though. I changed it the other day and it smelt really bad.

yeah honda MTF sucks a donkey d. i literally cringe when i have to shift into second in the winter, it crunches so bad (until it warms up). i'd change the MTF but i won't have the car for much longer so f it.
