Jeep wont stay running
#1
So I went out to start the jeep for the first time in a while today, and of course, *click*

This is a fairly new battery, so this seems odd to me..didnt seem like anything was left on inside. Went to try to jump it, and it finally started up, but then when it did, I had to keep the throttle applied, or if I let off it would basically immediately die, even while still hooked up the jumping vehicle.

Where do I start looking? I'm pretty terrible at diagnosing this stuff.

The first XJ I test drove (from a shitty dealer in Manasses) when shopping had this problem. Of course, it only reared its ugly head when I was in the middle of rush hour Nova traffic. Made for an interesting test drive to say the least.

Jeeps have a relearn they need to go through if the batt goes dead. You have to drive it and by the time you go about a half mile or so it will straighten itself out. Don't ask how I know about that.

Well, Gs dewd was right about the re-learn. Pulled the old IAC, it was so cruddy I decided to replace it instead of clean it. jeep ran like crap, then straightened out. Drove it around teh block a couple of times, parked it, then came back and it clicked. Not sure if the battery was just THAT dead, or if I have some other dud thing going on here. I just bought the batter wtihin the last year or so.
