Was a really good weekend and glad we saw new MMers and some good ole MMers at the track again. Maengs break in of his RPF1ed S2000, Channing's overpowered 318Ti, and Jakes MG eating Miata. I also got to go out for a session and damn I was rusty at VIR, but the M3 is ridonculously composed through the uphill esses, my first time flat-footed from turn 4 all the way to turn 10. Also got to give a ride-along to a new MMer and heard a small squeak (may actually have been me  ) from the passenger seat when we did a 4-wheel slide at 115-120mph at the top of the esses when I missed the exit apex. Now I know why Kyle says he wont ride with me on track.

Yep, he did great - the driver was 15 years old and that was his second HPDE ever. (His dad, i.e. the guy who stroked me a check, drove it in DE1 on Sunday...)

Great weekend, good to see you all

John, I'm jealous of your new TDI. I'm so torn since it's wrong wheel drive! :|

After a 11 month hiatus, it was awesome to get back out to the track. It was good to see Scotty again after a couple of years. It was also good to meet some of the newer MM crew as well as seeing some of the old guard.

I was pretty impressed with how the S2k handled while completely stock (except for a bigger front sway bar). Power delivery was also excellent, atleast compared to the Miata. The only thing that was craptastic were the sweet Primewell tires I was using. While it was pretty fun to be sliding the car in every turn, anytime I was behind someone I could hear my tires just screaming at me while the person in front was pulling away effortlessly. I'm sure the Primewells will love the carousel at Summit in November.

Soooo happy to see my old E36 on track in hpde1

I figured that was your old car since it had the same wheels and "GO FAST" plate instead of the "GET FAST" that I'm used to seeing.
