Hey guys, I'm in the market for a rear disc conversion for the CRX as my rear shoes are about done and one of the ebrake cables broke. Here's what I'm looking for. (acura/honda OEM only, no uber expensive wilwood stuff)
-Complete Rear Disc Brake swap with e-brake cables for a 1991 CRX HF
-4040 proportioning valve
-Everything else i need to make this work (master cylinder etc etc etc, if needed/suggested)
Also if you think i should upgrade the fronts while i'm at it lemme know. few questions also
1. Are all the rear disc brakes created equal? (integra vs GSR vs JDM CRX vs Si CRX)
2. If I should upgrade the fronts what are a good set?
also if noone has a set laying around i think theres a guy on vadriven that has set ups constantly. I am willing to drive to where they are/pay for shipping. This would be a good chance to clear out some junk outta your garage
. Thanks for the help!

I'm guessing I'd be the only person to have such parts laying around... and I don't. Maybe Kaan? But I don't think he's done any brake work to have the stuff you're looking for.
I'm not sure you'll need the prop valve, but I would recommend getting a larger master cylinder. I went with a '91 Civic EX Sedan one... they're the best bet for my model car. Somebody on HT would be able to tell you what's best for yours (I know little about the CRX).
1. All Integra (save Type R) brakes are the same. Some have ABS, but you can just pull that off. I have no idea on the CRX brakes. Does an Integra trailing arm fit a CRX?
2. If you were to upgrade the fronts, I'd just go with a set off the CRX Si assuming they're bigger. Or you may want to look in to FastBrakes. I use a kit that has a nifty piece of aluminum to mount Integra calipers on my original Civic front knuckles and uses massive [11"] Corrado rotors. I got it used, but I think new the kit is pretty cheap.
I do, however, have a ton of dead old calipers that are good to use as cores. Let me know if you need any.

Thanks for posting up mike. The crx is the exact same set up as any other EF civic. I've read most people use the older integra brakes (pre dc2), and that the rear trailing arm bolts directly up and everything is the same. As long as the ebrake cables are the correct length i should be good to go. I think the front brakes are gonna be sufficient enough as this car is solely a DD and i drive it like a granny to squeeze the 45mpgz out. Was just realizing my drums are doneski and fixing them would cost the same as a rear disc swap most likely, and i think disc brakes are easier to replace than drums but that most likely because i have more experience replacing discs. Also if i get a real DD this lightweight will become an HPDE later down the road because consumables would be nice and cheap and since the car's so light itd prolly perform well beyond my capabilities. this car would be nice and slow on track too allowing for more mistakes without costing as much green. Anywho, if noone has em ill prolly vadriven them, but ill give kaan the opportunity to gimme some insight as he is the CRX king and i am but the CRX peasant

you know, one of these days I'll learn how to use punctuation when I'm posting on message boards. I feel bad for anyone who has ever read any of my lengthy posts. I apologize, I will try to work on it.

i skipped most of what you said because it was unreadable. yes, now it has dawned on me that da integra brakes are what you are looking for and need. they are all the same since there was no type r (except in little mexico, arlington).
