"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth

And with Mullet, comes Camaro.

To stay sorta on topic, that 10AE looks good and I'm sure you could get him down in price a bit.

LOL, great....

That 10AE is pretty gorgeous. Of course, the simple fact is I can't do anything until my car sells.

And the Miata vs. Mustang thing, I'm looking for a car that I can daily, auto-x, and HPDE in with, like, zero investment beyond fluids+pads and other consumables. A Miata fits the bill perfectly, especially one that has some minimal track-prep work done.

I want something V8/RWD at some point, just not right now.

I hate to break this to you but that car doesn't exist. I also feel its a bad idea to track a DD, but others here might disagree.

And while we are typing like, you know, Valley Girls, a Mustang is like, totally as track prep-able and reliable and stuff as like, a Miata, you know?

I will not stop this until someone comes over to the American dark side and realizes how awesome it is over here 8)

Plenty of them exist. Miata isnt the only one, though Smile

Diff'rent strokes. Let it go already.

The mustang is going to have a much higher brake and tire budget, and be very frustrating to drive. Have you ever been on track in a stock mustang? Yeah, it makes cool V8 noises but its a very unpredictable ride.

I just can't see relegating myself to a Miata for daily use. Especially as a college student.

I remember my college days, my car was always full of shit. Books, papers, dead hookers. Where are you going to keep dead hookers in a Miata?

If a college student cant get away with owning a miata then :dunno: :dunno: :dunno:

Seriously how much shit do you need to haul around as a college student?

My '99 miata was my only street car for a while and I thought it was just fine.

.....Thats why you have a heavy awd turbocharged "Japanese" 4 cylinder as a track car....EL O EL!!

Edit: oh and yeah...I agree with you that its not a good idea to HPDE a daily driver. No matter what it is, I had 2 problems with my car on track, a broken valve cover (shops fault) and blowing up my motor (10,000rpms). Either of which will happen on any vehicle no matter if its the most reliable car in the world. Lets see what your valves do at 10,000rpm on a miata. It "might" have been fine if I didnt have aftermarket cams with stock valvetrain, but the car still wouldnt have liked it.
