Need some assistance...AGAIN!

My lack of tech savvy is really showing now.....

Somehow one of my hard drives changed its name from F: to G:. I dont know if this occurred when I installed my Blackberry desktop manager or not, I just didn't pay too much attention. My question is: will this affect those programs that I ahve installed on the HD?

Thanks! Beers on me at the garage this weekend #3 Gasoline Alley.

Might, but shouldn't. Will affect shortcuts and start menu items. Do you actually have programs installed on that drive? If it's just data (MP3s, documents, pics), it won't affect a thing.

You can change it back:

1. Log on as Administrator or as a member of the Administrators group.
2. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Performance and Maintenance.
3. Click Administrative Tools, double-click Computer Management, and then click Disk Management in the left pane.
4. Right-click the drive, the partition, the logical drive, or the volume that you want to assign a drive letter to, and then click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
5. Click Change.
6. Click Assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK.
7. Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the drive letter change.

How much memory can I used with XP?

Put two more 1gb sticks in there, assuming you have 4 slots. XP will probably only recognize 3.5g total though (it varies slightly by machine).

for memory I use this site for their scan toll. http://www.crucial.com/ then if I don't need it right away, I will order it from them (seems fair since I used their tool), if I need it pronto, I go to microcenter in FFX.

memory is dirt cheap right now. wait for a sale, you should be able to get 2gb kit for $20 or less

you can also go faster (ie ddr2-800) and it will just run at the slower 667 if thats what your chip/mb are clocked

About memory, I am updating my dad's computer. It takes either PC2700 DDR 333 or PC3200 DDR 400. Which is better? I would assume the larger # is better (thats what all the women say anyway)....

it depends on what the motherboard supports. if it can't support the PC3200, it won't run at PC3200 speed. additionally, if you're mixing memory, it will all run at the speed of the slowest chips.
