Was sittin at the game the whole time, in great seats, but ultimately dissapointed. We could have won that game if it wasn't for all the damn turnovers...and Landers getting injured in the 2nd. I knew we were in trouble when he wasn't suited up for the second half.

Yea, it was a great game and they certainly didn't give up without a fight. The turnovers totally killed us but overall it was still a good season.

Way too many turnovers and JMU's pass coverage was laughable. We rely way too heavily on Landers unfortunately, and him getting injured is what happens when you have a QB that runs for 100+ yards a game.
Oh well, there's always next year! I'd like us to go ahead and move up to single A so we can get our asses kicked, but can start to build that caliber of a team competing with the best teams in the country. It's going to take a while before we'll be competitive at that level.

I got to meet up with some JMU alumni from San Antonio. That was kind of cool, since I don't know anyone around here. We went to Champps. Oldest guy was from the class of 1983. There was also a guy there that was in ISAT with me, that I didn't know had moved here. He is a pastor.

yeah this game was disappointing, as everyone has said losing the turnover battle never works out in your benefit. I also agree that we have relied entirely too heavily on Landers and its a miracle he has managed to stay healthy for all but the last half of his last game. I'm sure it killed him to not be able to be out there.
I like Dudzik, I think he is more of a balanced player than landers - he can still run the ball but has a much stronger arm. With the exception of his one INT (which I know is big, but this is also the 3rtd game I think he has played in this season) he looked really strong. I'm sad that our season had to end like this but it will be good to have my Saturdays back I guess
12-14-2008, 02:14 AM
Dudzik a strong QB? yes. As strong as Landers? no. JMU sorta put its season on Landers shoulders and he carried it, Dudzik couldn't have done that. He has a strong arm for sure, but he isnt' the best QB around. He throws hard yeah, but he throws into coverage, or double coverage. It's like he goes into the play saying, 'ok I'm going to throw to this receiver on this play' without actually reading the routes and reading the defense. I think if Landers could have come back we might have had a better chance. But their offensive and defensive lines were so much bigger than ours, we just got overpowered on the line on both sides of the ball.

Yeah I agree Landers is a much more effective offensive weapon - I guess my point was that now we won't be relying almost entirely on one player for our offense.
does anyone think Landers will be picked up in the draft? I'm sure he would be picked up as a running back well before QB.

They tend to have runningbacks who throw really well. This is why I expect Bradford to go higher in the draft than Tebow. Bradford is a QB, Tebow is an RB that can throw.

another generalization: defense doesn't exist in I-AA.

I don't reallly have anything to back that up. so I could very well be wrong, but I do know Romo came from an FCS team and didn't Favre?
