i really liked ferrari challenge in the arcades and the 'ol school sega rally arcade game. Super Mario Kart was one of my personal fav's. NFS Underground has been one of the more fun games to play lately, not very realistic, but it's not really supposed to be.

rc pro-am, ivan ironman stewart's off-road, the old school sega rally game, mario kart and f-zero all kicked ass
excitebike, rad racer, outrun, pole position, and al "wifebeater" unser jr racing have been neglected on this list.
oh yeah, all the gran turismos have been pretty good too...

you're only the 2nd person i know within our age demographic that didnt own an NES back in the day... which means one day both of you will go on a killing spree...

I had behavior problems in school, it was always offered if I got a decent report card. By the time I settled down it was like SNES time... IO got one of those mayb a year after they came out and just last year I bought an NES and about 100 games on eBay

I'm leaving out a lot of "fun" racing games that I'll play with my brother for hours when I visit the family, or against other friends just because that's what they have, but there's not really anything redeeming about them. And top down racers are fun too, but I consider them in a different category and generally don't get hooked and play them for hours by myself.

Haven't played LFS or Sports Car GT so those might be on my list if I got around to playing them.
Now that I think about it GT2 was better than GT3, it had all the used cars that rocked my world.
