Yeah, I do. Share the fucking road. Whats it to you? It takes you an extra 3 minutes to get home? can you fucking read?
I said the middle of the road
which is in fact, illegal and dangerous. It is illegal for a cyclist to block traffic. I think its super duper when a cyclist properly rides on the right side of the road.
So dont pull that "Share the road" bullshit. Its the cyclists who arent playing along.
Id like you to drive 3mph for the last 4 miles of your commute tonight. Give it a shot sport, since its no big deal and all.

Code of Virginia § 46.2-905
"Any person operating a bicycle, electric personal assistive mobility device, electric power-assisted bicycle, or moped on a roadway at less than the normal speed of traffic at the time and place under conditions then existing shall ride as close as safely practicable to the right curb or edge of the roadway"
now suck my ass
Next time, take a picture - Seems real strange to me that someone on a road bike is riding down the middle of the road, on the double yellows... thats ASKING to get turned into a hood ornament.

I've done it, and I dont get bent about it. Sometimes it takes 30 minutes to get home (7 miles). Big fucking deal. I know your time isnt more important than everyone elses, even though thats the NoVa yuppie way.
What are you so wound up about?

I'm with evan, except I'll take the hate a step further and say that bicycles are queer and should stick to bike trails and offroad paths unless they're using a public road to get to one. I don't brake for bikers!

even at 35mph, the posted speed limit in the oakton area... you can come up on a cyclist quickly and never know they were there. so riding in the middle of the road is risking their lives.
not to mention its rarely just 1-3 riders... every time i see them its more like 20 riders... who i think should have a motor escourt to close shit off... because that type of group is all over the road, even over double yellows.

do it without traffic, obviously. go for it and let me know how that turns out for you.

Middle of the lane is a different story. And whats the big deal? You've got your shorts all bunched up because it impacts your commute and your time. Might as well complain about the weather, the cops, the soccer moms, the accidents... everything that gets in the way of you getting home 4 minutes faster. And for what? Got a plane to catch? If your commute was such a big deal you wouldnt have taken a job in DC.
Evan Wrote:you're the one who first posted complaining of the injustice of a cyclist getting a ticket
Why dont you take your own advice?
Evan Wrote:can you fucking read?
I never complained about it. I posted the article for this point:
Quote:one day after Virginia Governor Tim Kaine admitted the abusive driver fees were a failure ÔÇö and called for them to be repealed.
You obviously missed it.

You're damn straight I dont want to be illegally held up and forced to drive 5mph on my way home by a cyclist illegally blocking traffic and causing major accident risk. (thats illegal, do you know what that means?)
And the law agrees with me, incase you missed it.
But by all means, tell me why a cyclist is entitled to illegally block traffic and increase risk to other drivers.

And you obey all speed limits, stop at all stop signs and always use your turn signal too, right?
I never brought up the legality of it but there's plenty of places heading out lawyers road where you DONT want to be hugging the side of the road. I rode it a few times last year against my better judgement because the W&OD is so damn flat.
Try some of this:

Hey McFly... you were the one complaining about the cyclists. Not me.
Evan Wrote:bike riding pricks in oakton need a few $1,000 fines shoved up their spandex clad, buttplug sporting asses
And yes, you are being selfish, because that extra few minutes isnt going to kill you. At least you can resort to personal attacks when someone doesnt agree with your flying off the handle.
I'm done with this.

Discovery to base. Target has been confirmed as a cum dumpster and closet homosexual. Mission complete.
Black...... go on call it white Evan
What biker rides at 5mph?? I ride on the road almost all the time. I hardly obey traffic laws. Most of the time I am riding faster than the cars around me. If traffic is moving faster than I am able I move to the sidewalk or other wise get out of the way.

Answer none.
Its fair game to ride on sidewalks through malls and generally wherever on a bike. Most cyclists show far more common sense and make better progress than the average SUV driver.
I obey all the laws of the road.

I really do feel The Great Hate II is upon us.
I'm with Evan. Rj routinely bitches about the inconsiderate nature of others but then defends cyclists who are doing the same? Bollocks!

"Here, at last, is the cure for texting while driving. The millions of deaths which occur every year due to the iPhone’s ability to stream the Kim K/Ray-J video in 4G could all be avoided, every last one of them, if the government issued everyone a Seventies 911 and made sure they always left the house five minutes later than they’d wanted to. It would help if it could be made to rain as well. Full attention on the road. Guaranteed." -Jack Baruth
That's bloody brilliant!
